The Founder Is the Use Case
I’m an International Relations major who built a supply chain transparency tool — and I’m now personally living the geopolitical risk my product was designed to surface. That’s not irony. That’s credibility.
I’m a dual citizen of Canada and the United States. My parents moved to the States, but I grew up spending summers on my grandfather’s farm in Port Hope, Ontario — a place called Mastwoods. That’s where I had my first jobs. That’s heritage.
When I needed GDPR-compliant infrastructure to route European API traffic, I didn’t pick a random cloud region. I registered mastwoods.ca and built the Canadian proxy there — on CanSpace, a Canadian hosting provider, under PIPEDA jurisdiction. It’s been live since December 2025. It even has its own GDPR cookie consent banner.
Why .ca Matters
In Canada, you can’t register a .ca domain unless you’re a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. That’s not a marketing gimmick — it’s a legal requirement enforced by CIRA (the Canadian Internet Registration Authority). When you see mastwoods.ca, you know a Canadian is behind it.
Canada is also recognized by the European Commission under GDPR Article 45 as providing an adequate level of data protection. That means EU personal data can flow to Canada without Standard Contractual Clauses — a compliance advantage the United States doesn’t have.
From IR Degree to Supply Chain Intelligence
My degree in International Relations wasn’t just academic. It gave me a framework for understanding how trade policy, sanctions, tariffs, and geopolitical shifts ripple through global supply chains. When I built ResilienceOS (FutureScan), I wasn’t building from theory — I was building from lived experience.
Today, ResilienceOS offers:
- Canadian Sourcing Intelligence — Verify Canadian content and measure US supply chain exposure. CUSMA/USMCA compliance analysis.
- Supply Chain Transparency Scanner — ESG disclosures, CSRD alignment, and visibility gap analysis.
- Checkout Accessibility Audit — WCAG 2.2 compliance scanning for e-commerce checkout flows.
- Logistics Risk Intelligence — Carrier networks, 3PL risk, and freight compliance mapping.
- AI Visibility Scanner — Measure your brand’s presence in AI-generated responses.
Canadian Infrastructure, Global Reach
All EU/EEA API traffic is automatically routed through our Canadian infrastructure at api.mastwoods.ca, hosted by CanSpace in Canada. This has been active since December 2025. The name comes from my grandfather’s farm — where I grew up and had my first summer jobs. This isn’t just compliance infrastructure; it’s heritage.
